Eberlestock FannyTop Pack-Mount Go Bag Nylon
Retails around $50
I was introduced to Eberlestock as a company by my friends at P5 Preparedness in Chattanooga TN. Personally, I’d never heard of the company before this. I’m glad I found them.
I’ve been using a small fanny style bag from Eberlestock for Get Home Bag (GHB) and other uses for a couple of years now and have no complaints. As a matter of fact, two of my kids have the same bag and use it for everything from hiking to Nerf gun battles and still no complaints.
If you’re looking for something smaller than a backpack as your GHB or just need a small bag for everyday carry purposes, you can’t beat this one. I used it for everyday carry for a while, and typically carried my sidearm, wallet, keys, business cards, Altoids, and a book in it. Everything fit perfectly.
In addition to the great sizing, there are a couple of various pocket entries, including two waterproof pockets for keeping liquids in or out, depending on what you’re carrying.
The bag is also very expandable if you need more size. There are multiple attachment points for extra holders and also several straps. I used to carry a large North Face raincoat strapped onto the side. I’ve also seen other friends have it configured with radio and Nalgene pouches. I even once saw a guy with an MP-5 strapped onto it for true GHB purposes.
If you decide to go with a full Eberlestock system with larger bags as well, the fanny pack is made to integrate onto the other bags.
Like I said, if you’re looking for a small carry bag, you can’t go wrong with this one.
If you’re anywhere near the TN area or taking a trip, take the intro to prepping class at P5, and they include a bag with the class. That’s how both me and my two boys got ours. Tell Duke or Seth that Dr. Dave sent you.
